Game Changer box office collection day 6: Is Ram Charan, Shankar, Kiara Advani film a flop?

Headlined by Ram Charan and helmed by Shankar, the political thriller Game Changer released in cinemas worldwide on January 10. The Shankar directorial stars Ram Charan in double roles of a father and son, alongside Kiara Advani, Anjali, Samuthirakani, S. J. Suryah, Srikanth, Sunil, and Jayaram in pivotal roles.

Game Changer collected Rs 106.15 crore net in India and grossed Rs 154.50 crore worldwide in the first five days. On its sixth day, as per the early estimates from the entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk, the film saw its lowest day at the box office so far and earned just Rs 6.50 crore.

The Ram Charan-starrer is seeing a continuous decline in its collections. With a massive budget of Rs 450 crore, this could mean that Game Changer might finish just under Rs 200 crore globally and could turn out to be a massive flop. It will be Shankar's second consecutive box office bomb after his last release Indian 2, headlined by Kamal Haasan, amassed Rs 148 crore worldwide against its budget of Rs 250 crore in 2024.

Game Changer is facing stiff competition from Nandamuri Balakrishna-starrer action thriller Daaku Maharaaj and Venkatesh-starrer action comedy Sankranthiki Vasthunam. While Daaku Maharaj was released on January 12, Sankranthiki Vasthunam hit theatres on January 14. Both the movies are attracting more crowds in the theatres as compared to the Ram Charan film.

Earlier, the makers of Game Changers were questioned for allegedly inflating their box office numbers. The makers had reported the opening day figures as Rs 186 crore gross worldwide, while several trade portals including Sacnilk had reported that Game Changer had earned Rs 86 crore gross worldwide on its first day of release. This Rs 100 crore difference in the box office collection was called out by several trade analysts on social media.
