Did Pushpa 2 star Allu Arjun say 'now the film will be a hit' after stampede incident? Here's what we know

Actor Allu Arjun has been embroiled in controversy ever since he was granted interim bail in the Pushpa 2 stampede case that killed a woman and critically injured her son. In the latest development, he has been accused of uttering an insensitive remark after police informed him of the stampede on December 4. It is also claimed that he smiled and waved at the fans despite knowing of the death at the Sandhya Theatre. 

AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi recently made shocking accusations against the actor that he didn’t care when he was told about the death of the woman and hospitalisation of the child during the incident. “According to the information I have received, the star who went to the theatre to watch the film was informed about the issue when it happened. Even the police told him that there was a stampede and two children have fallen, one woman is dead. The film star turned to them, smiled and said, now the film will be a hit,” said Owaisi. 

Furthermore, Owaisi expressed his dismay, wondering where the ‘humanity’ was in the situation. He drew a contrast with his approach, highlighting how he prioritizes crowd safety during his public rallies. "A woman lost her life, two young children were caught in the stampede, one of whom is still in a coma. And yet, that person didn't even bother to visit or offer condolences, instead choosing to wave and smile for the cameras,” he added.

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun has not yet reacted to Owaisi’s claims. The actor was taken into custody on December 13 but was released the very next day, December 14, after the Telangana High Court granted him interim bail. He has since extended an apology to the affected family, although he has not met with them in person, as advised by his legal counsel.
