UPSC is undoubtedly the biggest dream of many in India and one of the hardest career path to crack. However, many IAS officers have inspiring stories to encourage aspirants to be determined in their struggles and chalk a path to success.  

IAS Divya Mittal hails from Haryana and is the District Magistrate of Deoria Uttar Pradesh. An IIT graduate, Mittal has also completed MBA from IIM Bangalore. She secured a high-paying job at JP Morgan Financial Company in London, United Kingdom, right after completing her education at IIM.  

But she preferred to leave a high paying job in a foreign country only to come back to India to prepare for UPSC. She cracked the UPSC in 2012 and became an IPS officer but still remained unsatisfied. But in 2013 she cracked the exam again to fulfill her dream of becoming an IAS officer and in the second time she secured 68th rank.  

Divya was the District Magistrate of Mirzapur, Sant Kabir Nagar and Basti. In an interview she said that UPSC aspirants should have a focus on their goal. She said, “If you want to crack an exam, first of all, stay away from the phone.”
