The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exam is known as one of the toughest in India, with lakhs of aspirants vying for a few select positions each year. Among the achievers of this prestigious exam is Ambika Raina, who left behind a career in Switzerland to fulfill her dream of becoming a civil servant.

Hailing from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, Ambika is the daughter of a Major General and grew up studying in various cities due to her father’s transferable job. A bright student from the start, she pursued her degree in Architecture from CEPT University, Ahmedabad.

After graduation, Ambika moved to Switzerland for an internship, where she received multiple job offers from leading companies. Despite the attractive opportunities abroad, she discovered her passion for civil services and decided to return to India to prepare for the UPSC exam.

The journey was far from easy. Ambika faced failures in her first two attempts but used them as learning experiences. She identified her weaknesses and focused on mock tests to improve. Her determination paid off in 2022 when she cleared the exam in her third attempt, securing All India Rank (AIR) 164. She is now an officer in the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IAAS).

Ambika’s journey has made her a role model for aspirants across the country. Active on social media, she regularly shares insights and tips, inspiring many to chase their dreams with determination and hard work.
