The story of IAS Anil Basak is of greatness achieved not through money but hard work and passion. Coming from a family which could only make ends meet, financial struggle never stopped Basak aiming high.
Hardwork and determination are key for success as nothing comes for free, commitment and sustaining that commitment with your labour paves the way for long term benefits. There are many examples of people contributing their whole life towards achieving that one goal and making it their reality. One of the examples is of IAS Anil Basak who fought all challenges and took all struggles in great spirit to reach this level of success.
The story of IAS Anil Basak is of greatness achieved not through money but hard work and passion. Coming from a family which could only make ends meet, financial struggle never stopped Basak aiming high. He improved his academic performance and not only came out of financial poverty but let his family’s name shine.
His intelligence and hard work got him selected at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi in 2014 to study civil engineering. He then started preparing for the UPSC, although he could not continue his coaching after 2018 due to financial strains but nevertheless continued his efforts with consistency and determination.
He credits his success to his family and friends. Becoming an IAS officer was Basak’s childhood dream on which he had set his eyes since his school days.
His achievements are a shining example for those who believe in gaining success despite challenges. His father’s, Binod Basak, job was as a roadside cloth merchant in Kishanganj, Bihar. He travelled several villages to sell clothing and lived an extremely difficult life.
Eliminating his family’s difficulties was another reason that pushed Anil to work towards becoming a government officer. He is only the second family member to have passed class 10 and first to secure a coveted job in the Indian Revenue Service with an impressive rank of AIR 45.
