The Civil Services Examination, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), is one of the toughest exams in India. It requires in-depth knowledge, critical thinking, and dedication to clear its three stages: prelims, mains, and the interview. Among the many inspiring success stories is that of Divya Tanwar, who cleared the UPSC exam not once but twice.
Divya’s journey began in the small village of Nimbi, Mahendragarh, Haryana. After losing her father in 2011, her family faced significant financial hardships. Her mother worked as a house helper to support Divya and her three siblings. Despite these challenges, Divya excelled academically. After completing her schooling at government schools and Navodaya Vidyalaya, she pursued a degree in science and began her UPSC preparation.
Divya relied on online resources and test series instead of traditional coaching. At just 21 years old, she cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2021, securing an All India Rank (AIR) of 438 and becoming one of the youngest IPS officers in the country. She scored 930 marks overall, with 751 in the written exam and 179 in the personality test.
Not content with this achievement, Divya worked even harder and reappeared for the UPSC exam in 2022. This time, she secured an impressive AIR of 105, scoring a total of 994 marks. This remarkable feat fulfilled her dream of becoming an IAS officer.
