IIIT updates its BTech course, mandates studying ChatGPT in these two branches

Future engineers will be able to explore their career opportunities by understanding ChatGPT well. In this direction, the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) has taken an important decision. Students enrolled in the B.Tech Information Technology (IT) and B.Tech Business Informatics (BI) programs at the institute will be required to study 'ChatGPT' as part of their curriculum. A subject titled Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been developed and implemented for both these branches. 

The B.Tech program at the institute has been updated under the National Education Policy (NEP-2020). Several new subjects, including ChatGPT, have been introduced for B.Tech IT and BI students. Students enrolled in these two branches in the current session will have to study Deep Learning and Machine Learning in their third year.

In their fourth year or seventh semester, studying Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be mandatory. A new subject has been developed for this. The institute's director, Prof. Mukul Sharad Sutavne, mentioned that the institute offers courses in three branches. IT and BI students will have to study Generative AI in their seventh semester. If students from the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) branch wish to study Generative AI, they can take it as an elective subject. 

Admissions have been made for 40 seats in B.Tech Information Technology (IT-267), B.Tech Electronics and Communication (ECE-127), and B.Tech Business Informatics.
