Team India squad for Champions Trophy 2025 to be announced on THIS date

The Team India squad for the ICC Champions Trophy will be revealed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on January 18. At 12:30 PM IST, Ajit Agarkar, the chairman of the selectors, will lead a news conference where this announcement will be made. It is also expected that skipper Rohit Sharma will attend the announcement. The team will also be revealed for the three-match ODI series against England, which comes before the Champions Trophy.

Since the forthcoming ODIs against England will serve as a warm-up for the Champions Trophy, the team for both events is probably going to remain the same. India, along with traditional adversaries Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand, has been assigned to Group A for the Champions Trophy. On February 20, the Men in Blue will play their first game of the season against Bangladesh. On February 23, they will play Pakistan. On March 2, they will play New Zealand in their last group stage encounter.

The Dubai International Stadium will host all of Team India's games. On February 19, a match between hosts Pakistan and New Zealand will begin the tournament in Karachi. March 4 in Dubai is the date of the first semi-final, and March 5 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore is the date of the second semi-final. Depending on whether India qualifies, the location of the final, which is scheduled for March 8, will be determined following the first semi-final. The match will take place in Dubai if India advances to the final; if not, it will be moved to Lahore.

Given that Jasprit Bumrah suffered a back spasm during the fifth Test match against Australia in Sydney, there will be a lot of interest in his selection for the Champions Trophy. Numerous reports regarding his injury have surfaced since then. However, during the press conference, it is anticipated that both captain Rohit and  chief selector Agarkar will clarify this matter.

It has also been reported that Rohit Sharma will skip the captain's photoshoot for the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is currently making arrangements for the opening ceremony of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is expected to take place on February 16 or 17.
