India vs England 4th Test Day 3: The ongoing Manchester Test between India and England is getting exciting each day. On the second day of the game, England bowlers bundled out India at 358. When the Ben Stokes-led side came out to bat, it was a sheer show of dominance as they added over 150 runs on board without losing any wickets. However, Ravindra Jadeja gave some respite to the Indian side when he dismissed Zak Crawley. After the end of the last Session of Day 2, England were 225/2 with Joe Root and Ollie Pope at the crease. It will be interesting to see whether the Indian bowlers be able to bowl out the home side quickly to prevent them from adding lead over the touring nation. Stay tuned to this space for all the live and latest updates from the Manchester Test.
Bumrah has returned and took a wicket on his first ball of a new spell by getting Smith out. Jurel made a low diving catch, but there was uncertainty about whether the ball was caught cleanly. However, the catch is confirmed, and Smith is out for nine runs. Chris Woakes is the next batsman and scores a single to start his innings.
Siraj is ready to bowl again for India, with a gully and a fly slip positioned for Root. The over starts with a bouncer, and Root pulls it for one run to deep midwicket. Stokes, now on 64, hits a short and wide ball for four runs through midwicket. He struggles to run due to cramps but manages to hurry after seeing the throw come his way. Root adds another single with a pull shot to deep midwicket.
Shardul Thakur bowls to Joe Root, who plays the first ball to the gully without scoring. Root then drives the next ball into the stumps. There’s an appeal for leg before wicket as Root misses a flick and gets hit on the front foot, but it’s ruled to go down leg. Root gets one leg bye. Ben Stokes plays a square drive for a single, and Root gets one run off an inside edge to the on side.
Jasprit Bumrah starts his over but gives up a boundary to Stokes, who also adds two more runs. Stokes gets one more run, and Bumrah oversteps, granting England an extra run. Root unexpectedly gets a bounce but still manages to score two runs. He then gets one run, moving to 98. It's time for a drink.
India is delaying using the new ball while Washington bowls his seventh consecutive over. Root hits the fifth delivery through midwicket, putting England in the lead. Stokes then drives the last ball to deep cover for another single.
