Meet man who played important role in Mukesh Ambani's son Anant Ambani's pre-wedding festivities, has Salman Khan link

In the world of lavish celebrations, one name has stood out for his exceptional cooking skills: Nikunj Vasoya. Known for his expertise in Kathiyawadi cuisine, Vasoya played a key role in the grand wedding celebrations of the Ambani family. Mukesh and Nita Ambani wanted to add an authentic cultural touch to their son Anant Ambani's wedding. This led them to Vasoya, a chef from Jamnagar with over 21 years of experience in Kathiyawadi cooking. His journey from a small-town chef to cooking for one of India’s most influential families reflects the richness of his craft.

Vasoya grew up in Khijadiya, a village in Jamnagar, in a family of cotton farmers. His childhood was modest, and he learned early on that good food can bring joy to everyone. After finishing school, he initially studied computer science but dropped out in 2013 to follow his passion for cooking. He now runs a YouTube channel where he shares traditional recipes cooked on a chulha (charcoal stove).

In an interview with Indian Express, the 35-year-old chef shared how his career took off after impressing the Ambanis during a New Year’s dinner. “Nita Bhabhi loved the food so much that she called me back the next day,” he said. Since then, he has cooked Kathiyawadi meals for the family more than a dozen times.

For the pre-wedding festivities at Anant’s Vantara wildlife project on July 9 and 10, Vasoya prepared traditional dishes like Jamnagari Sev, Mamra Lili Chutney, Desi Sev Tamera Shaak, and Bajri Rotla. While Kathiyawadi food is known for its bold, spicy flavors, he adjusted the recipes to suit international guests who preferred milder tastes. Vasoya's cooking is praised for its use of fresh, local ingredients that showcase Gujarat’s agricultural heritage. “Kathiyawadi cuisine is special because it uses natural, organic produce, making it both healthy and delicious,” he explained.

Recently, a video featuring Vasoya went viral, showing his memories from 2024, including moments with the Ambani family and Bollywood star Salman Khan. The video included clips of Vasoya celebrating with Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani and their son Akash Ambani at a birthday party for Salman Khan in Jamnagar.
