When Ram Gopal Varma said he 'uses women only for sex', rejected Suchitra Krishnamoorthi: 'I like women’s bodies not...'

Actress and singer Suchitra Krishnamoorthi's 2013 book Drama Queen continues to create controversies by giving glimpses of her life. There is one memorable moment in the book concerning a rejected marriage proposal to filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma which continues to steal the limelight. In the book, the former singer and actress revealed how she once sent a message to Ram Gopal Varma saying, "Ramu will you marry me?" The two had earlier collaborated on two films My Wife’s Murder and Rann. 

In the book, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi reveals how she met Ram Gopal Varma at his office and discussed the topic of marriage, RGV told her, "Suchitra, I think you have misunderstood me. Completely. We are not similar at all. Never. I don’t believe in the institution of marriage. I am just not the marrying kind. I use women only for sex and I am very sure that’s not what you want. I like women’s bodies but not their brains. In my opinion, a woman should be seen and not heard."

Suchitra Krishnamoorthi and Ram Gopal Varma never made their relationship official which made this revelation in the former actress's book more shocking. In an interview with TOI, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi also confirmed that what she wrote in the book was true. She revealed that her marriage proposal was rejected by Ram Gopal Varma and that she made his response public after taking his permission.

Yes, there was a point when I wanted to marry him and I sent him this text message. And I have recounted Ramu’s reply too. Of course, I have asked for his permission. How can I put this out without his permission?" Suchitra Krishnamoorthi had said.
