Shahid Kapoor has reacted to Saif Ali Khan's injury and expressed his views about the safety of Mumbai citizens.
The Bollywood fraternity is reeling in shock after actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed multiple times during an attempted burglary at his Bandra residence. Shahid Kapoor, speaking at the press conference for his upcoming film Deva, wished Saif a speedy recovery and expressed deep concern over the incident.
"It's a very sad incident. All of us are extremely shocked. We hope Saif's health improves soon. It’s difficult to absorb that something like this could happen in Mumbai, a city we proudly call safe," said Shahid.
Meanwhile, CCTV footage from Saif’s building revealed a suspicious man moving around the stairwell between 1 am and 3 am on January 16. Saif, who fought off the burglar, sustained severe injuries from a 2.5-inch knife. He underwent surgery, and the knife was removed successfully. Saif is currently in the ICU under observation.
On the work front, Shahid Kapoor is gearing up for Deva, a high-octane drama directed by renowned Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews. Shahid will play a brilliant yet stubborn police officer opposite Pooja Hegde, who portrays a journalist.
Produced by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films, Deva also stars Pavail Gulati, Pravessh Rana, and Kubbra Sait in pivotal roles. The film is set to hit theatres on January 31.
