Sunny Deol made his debut with the 1983 romantic film Betaab alongside Amrita Singh which was produced by his father Dharmendra and directed by Rahul Rawail. The film proved to be a success and Sunny won many hearts with his cuteness in the film. This Bollywood star also fell in love with him.

A throwback video of Sunidhi Chauhan was shared on a page named rakeshmishra_0 on Instagram. The video was from the singing reality show Dil Hai Hindustani where Sunny Deol and Dharmendra came as a guest and Sunidhi Chauhan and Pritam were the judges. During the episode, Sunidhi Chauhan told Sunny Deol that she had her first crush on him after seeing Betaab. She said, "Seeing your eyes and side profile, not only me but thousands of girls lost their hearts and still have a crush on you." Hearing this, Sunny Deol started blushing, and then Dharmendra also started smiling. This video of Sunidhi on social media is becoming increasingly viral and has been liked by hundreds of people.
Betaab emerged as the 2nd highest-grossing Indian film of 1983. The film was remade in Telugu as Samrat in 1987 with Ramesh Babu and in Kannada as Karthik in 2011 with Karthik Shetty.
