R Madhavan warns son Vedaant about his 'privileged' life: 'You can't be seen with...'

R Madhavan recently shared his experiences of mentoring his son, Vedaant Madhavan, who has made a name for himself as a talented freestyle swimmer.

Vedaant has already built an impressive resume, winning five gold medals at the Malaysian Open, along with gold and silver at the Danish Open. He also clinched bronze at both the Latvian and Thailand Opens, and secured a strong fifth-place finish at the Commonwealth Youth Games. With such achievements at a young age, Vedaant is quickly emerging as a rising star in the world of sports.

In a conversation with Miss Malini, R Madhavan expressed how incredibly proud he is of his son, Vedaant, and his accomplishments in swimming. He shared how it fills him with pride when people recognize his work but also acknowledge Vedaant's achievements, saying, "It feels really proud when common man comes up and says we like your work but we are so proud of you because of Vedaant."

However, Madhavan also made sure to remind his son about the privileges and responsibilities that come with fame, telling him, "Unfortunately or fortunately, your life is going to be privileged because you're my son."

R Madhavan also opened up about the challenges his son, Vedaant, faces due to his growing recognition. He shared how he had warned Vedaant about the pressures that come with being in the public eye, saying, "You can’t be seen with your shirt off and sleeping in any bed because one photograph of you in that kind of a pose is national news."

Madhavan emphasized that Vedaant couldn't afford to live as carefree as his friends, as he carries the responsibility of being constantly recognized and seen as a role model. He said, "You can’t afford to be as footloose and fancy-free as the rest of your friends. You carry a burden of being recognised and being a model."

On the work front, R Madhavan was last seen in the box-office hit Shaitaan, starring alongside Ajay Devgn. He is now gearing up to reunite with his Tanu Weds Manu co-star, Kangana Ranaut, for an upcoming pan-India psychological thriller directed by Thalaivii director Vijay. Madhavan is also busy promoting Hisaab Barabar, a satirical action-comedy that stars Neil Nitin Mukesh and Kirti Kulhari in lead roles.
