The song was shot in Kolkata and though it featured both Neetu Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan, the actress, in an interview, once revealed that she left the set early and returned to Mumbai as she did not want to be away from her fiance Rishi Kapoor at the time.
Neetu Kapoor, before she married Rishi Kapoor, was a successful actress with a bright career ahead of her. She worked with some of the biggest superstars before calling it quits after her marriage into the Kapoor family. The actress had once also opened up about her time working with Amitabh Bachchan in the film Yaarana, including the popular song Sara Zamana Haseeno Ka Deewana. The song was shot in Kolkata and though it featured both Neetu Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan, the actress, in an interview, once revealed that she left the set early and returned to Mumbai as she did not want to be away from her fiance Rishi Kapoor at the time.
In an old interview with Rediff, Neetu Kapoor said, "I remember we were in Calcutta shooting for that stage song in a stadium (Yaarana). We were sitting together, and I was crying, tears rolling down my cheeks. I had just got engaged and I didn’t want to be away from Chintu (Rishi Kapoor). The phones in Calcutta weren’t working. And Chintu was upset that he couldn’t get through to me. Amit asked me why I was crying. I said, ‘I want to go back.’ He replied, ‘You will'."
Neetu Kapoor revealed that it was Amitabh Bachchan who helped her during this time and called the producer, asking him to book a ticket back to Bombay. "He called the producer, asked him to book my ticket back to Bombay, and said they’d manage the song without me. They did. You will notice I am there for half the song and then I disappear," Neetu Kapoor added.
For the unversed, Neetu Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor got married in 1980 in the presence of their close friends and colleagues from Bollywood. Neetu Kapoor quit acting after marriage but after Rishi Kapoor's death due to leukemia in April 2020, the actress has been rebuilding her career again.
