Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband Sunjay Kapur's funeral to take place in Delhi, details inside

Karisma Kapoor's ex-husband Sunjay Kapoor, who was also the chairman of Indian automotive technology firm Coma Somstar, passed away on Thursday, June 12, at the age of 53 years. Kapur died of a heart attack, apparently after swallowing a bee during a polo match in London. Karisma was Sunjay's second wife and he was previously married to famous fashion designer Nandita Mahtani, and after his divorce with the Zubeidaa actress, he had tied tied the knot with former actress and socialite Priya Sachdev.

Sunjay is survived by Priya and their son Azarias. He also had two children, daughter Samaira and son Kiaan from his marriage with Karisma. His father-in-law Ashok Sachdev has confirmed that Kapur's funeral will take place in Delhi. Talking to NDTV, he said, "The postmortem is currently underway. Once the paperwork is complete, the body will be brought to India for the last rites."

On Thursday, just few hours before his death, Sunjay had shared his condolences to the victims, their families, and all those affected in the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, that has killed more than 265 people. He had written on his X (formerly Twitter) account, "Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour. #planecrash."

11 years after their wedding, Karisma and Sunjay parted ways in 2014 and their divorce was finalised in 2016. During those two years, the actress had made several allegations against the industrialist, accusing him and his mother of domestic abuse and  dowry harassment. Though, the ex-couple maintained a healthy and respectful relationship after their divorce.

After Sunjay's death, Karisma's sister and brother-in-law Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan were seen visiting her house in Mumbai in the wee hours on Friday. Her close friends and sisters Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora also reached Karisma's house to exend their support.
