Fateh box office collection day 3: Sonu Sood film remains steady, earns Rs 6.50 crore in opening weekend

Headlined and helmed by Sonu Sood in his directorial debut, the action thriller Fateh releases in cinemas on January 10. The film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Vijay Raaz, and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles. Set in the dark world of cybercrime, Fateh is centred around Sonu Sood's titular character in search of a missing girl from his village.

Fateh received positive to mixed reviews from audiences and critics. Its action sequences and performances are being appreciated, while its predictable writing and screenplay are its drawbacks. In fact, the film's pre-climax sequence has been receiving backlash for trying to imitate Animal's pre-interval action sequence.

The Sonu Sood directorial earned Rs 2.40 crore on its opening day as the ticket prices were slashed for Rs 99 across India. On its second day, the film added Rs 2.10 crore to its domestic collections. As per the early estimates from the entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk, Fateh earned Rs 2 crore on Sunday, taking its opening weekend collection to Rs 6.50 crore net in India.

Considering its low opening weekend collection, the makers on Sunday even launched the BOGO (Buy One Get One) offer. Taking to its Instagram account, Zee Studios shared the announcement poster and wrote, "Samay aa gaya hai, aapke liye power-packed offer ka! Book one ticket and get another one free, offer starts today. Fateh in cinemas now."

Fateh is facing competition from Ram Charan, Kiara Advani-starrer pan-India film Game Changer. The political action thriller released alongside Fateh and is attracting more crowds in the theatres, as compared to the Sonu Sood film. Game Changer is directed by Shankar, who has previously helmed blockbusters such as Indian, Enthiran, and Sivaji.
