Union Minister Nitin Gadkari attended the screening in Nagpur and shared his review on social media. The union minister was deeply impressed by the film's authentic storytelling and captivating performances.

Kangana Ranaut's directorial venture, Emergency, delves into one of India's most contentious periods when democracy was suspended and the nation teetered on the brink. Kangana's portrayal of Indira Gandhi, alongside an ensemble cast including Anupam Kher as Jayaprakash Narayan, takes audiences on a gripping political ride. The film explores the intense struggle between unbridled power and the essence of democracy, offering viewers a pivotal moment in Indian history. 

Written and directed by Kangana herself, the film also stars Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in his final on-screen performance. Produced by Zee Studios, Manikarnika Films, and Renu Pitti, the film boasts an impressive soundtrack composed by Sanchit Balhara and G.V. Prakash Kumar, along with compelling dialogues crafted by Ritesh Shah. The film is set to arrive in theatres on January 17, 2025.
