Did Amitabh Bachchan take holy dip in Sangam during Mahakumbh 2025? Fans raise concerns: 'Thand se bach kar raho'

Mahakumbh 2025 began in Prayagraj on Monday, January 13, and will conclude on Wednesday, February 26. The religious event is likely to attract millions of pilgrims seeking spiritual purification. Mahakumbh 2025 is more special not only because of its religious significance but also because of the rare celestial alignment that occurs only once every 144 years.

On Wednesday, January 15, Amitabh Bachchan took to his X (formerly Twitter) account and penned a cryptic tweet that read, "महाकुंभ स्नान भव:". It hinted that the superstar might soon be taking the holy dip in Sangam at the Mahakumbh 2025, but there have been no confirmed news about the same yet. Prayagraj also happens to be Bachchan's hometown.

Reacting to his post, Amitabh's fans raised concerns about the superstar in the comments section. One of them wrote, "Thand se bach kar raho sir", while another added, "Respected Bachchan sahab, hope you are well. Despite your age and health issues, you should not let go of this special occasion and take the holy dip in Mahakumbh 2025."

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Amitabh was most recently seen in the film Vettaiyan, where he shared the screen with Rajinikanth, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, the action thriller centers around Rajinikanth as Athiyan, a seasoned police officer who unintentionally shoots and kills an innocent person during an encounter. 

With the Rs 1000 crore-grosser Kalki 2898 AD, Bachchan also gave the biggest blockbuster of his career last year. The epic dystopian sci-fi action drama also featured Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan in the leading roles. The Nag Ashwin directorial became the second highest-grossing Indian film of 2024 behind Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2: The Rule.
